Charter         

The Wyoming Schuetzen Union is an organization dedicated to the continuation of the Schuetzen matches typical to America prior to 1917. Members of the Wyoming Schuetzen Union are charged with the responsibility of educating the public on the traditions of the Schuetzenfest and promoting the use of traditional single shot rifles in the Schuetzenfest. A priority of the Wyoming Schuetzen Union is the promotion of the Schuetzenfest ethics and technique with young people.

The undersigned Charter Members will be the voting membership for the term ending January 30, 2005. These charter members assume the responsibility for the initial set-up, promotion, and match duties associated with the traditional Schuetzenfest. Officers for the Wyoming Schuetzen Union will be selected from the ranks of the Charter Members until January 30, 2005. After this date officers can be selected from the general membership.

It is the understood obligation of the Charter Members to promote the safe and responsible handling of the pre-1917 Schuetzen rifle and to preserve those traditions that are associated with the Schuetzen Bunds and Unions. It is also understood that the Wyoming Schuetzen Union will be a recognized affiliate of the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, Cody Shooting Complex, Inc., American Single Shot Rifle Association, and the International Single Shot Association. The Wyoming Schuetzen Union will work closely with all the above organizations to promote traditional Schuetzen competitions and the Schuetzenfest.

Organized and established March 20, 1999
